Job Summary


The incumbent is responsible for leading and executing core talent management programs that support organizational effectiveness, leadership continuity, employee development, and workforce capability building. The role partners closely with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), leaders, and Centres of Excellence (CoEs) to implement talent review, succession planning, career development, and performance management processes while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and talent strategies.

Main Responsibilities


Succession Planning, Talent Review, Career Management and Performance Management
  • Lead the execution and continuous improvement of succession planning and talent review processes across assigned client groups
  • Facilitate talent discussions, calibration sessions, and succession planning activities with leaders and HR partners
  • Maintain succession plans, talent profiles, and readiness assessments while identifying risks and recommending mitigation actions
  • Support the implementation and administration of performance management programs, tools, and annual talent cycles
  • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to identify high-potential talent and development priorities
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of career pathing frameworks and employee development initiatives
  • Analyze talent data and trends to identify opportunities, inform decision-making, and support workforce planning activities
  • Provide guidance and education to leaders and HR stakeholders on talent management principles, processes, and best practices
  • Support the development and maintenance of talent management resources, communications materials, and learning tools

Stakeholder Partnership
  • Build collaborative relationships with HRBPs, business leaders, and key stakeholders to support talent strategies and organizational objectives
  • Provide subject matter expertise on talent management programs, processes, and tools
  • Support change management and communication activities related to talent initiatives and program implementations
  • Ensure consistent application of talent management practices across client groups while balancing business needs and employee development

Operational Excellence
  • Monitor program effectiveness through reporting, metrics, and feedback mechanisms
  • Prepare analyses, presentations, and recommendations to support talent reviews and leadership discussions
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the employee and manager experience
  • Support project management activities for talent management initiatives and annual program cycles
  • Maintain data integrity and governance within talent management systems and processes

Working Conditions


The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday and is eligible to participate in CN's hybrid work model. The role involves managing priorities and delivering work within established timelines, with support from the team to ensure sustainable and effective workload management.

Experience


Human Resources
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or related fields
  • Experience supporting talent review, succession planning, leadership development, performance management, or employee development programs
  • Experience partnering with leaders and stakeholders to deliver talent-related initiatives
  • Experience analyzing talent data and developing recommendations to support business decisions
  • Project management or program implementation experience*
  • Candidates with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered

Education/Certification/Designation


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field*

Technical Skills/Knowledge


  • Knowledge of talent management processes, including succession planning, talent reviews, performance management, and career development
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and employee lifecycle processes
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to generate actionable insights
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and talent management platforms*
